JAMB UTME registration 2025

How to Register for JAMB UTME 2025: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide

Everything you need to know about JAMB UTME 2025 registration — from creating your profile to choosing your subjects and exam centre.

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME) is the gateway to university education in Nigeria. If you are planning to sit for the 2025 exam, this guide walks you through every step of the registration process.

What You Will Need Before You Start

Before visiting any registration centre, make sure you have the following ready:

  • Your National Identification Number (NIN)
  • A valid email address (one you check regularly)
  • Your O'Level result (WAEC or NECO) — at least a credit pass in five subjects including English
  • A passport photograph (white background, taken within the last three months)
  • Payment of the JAMB e-PIN (₦1,500)

Step 1 — Purchase Your JAMB e-PIN

The first thing you need is a JAMB e-PIN, which costs ₦1,500. You can purchase it from any approved JAMB accredited centre — including Springtower Computer Institute on Okigwe Road, Owerri — or online via the JAMB portal. Avoid buying PINs from roadside vendors as fake PINs are common.

Step 2 — Create Your JAMB Profile

Visit jamb.gov.ng and click "Create Profile". You will be asked to:

  1. Enter your NIN
  2. Provide your email address
  3. Set a password for your profile
  4. Answer security questions

Once your profile is created, you will receive a JAMB Profile Code via SMS on the phone number linked to your NIN. Keep this code safe — you will need it throughout the registration process.

Step 3 — Fill the JAMB Registration Form

Log in with your e-PIN and profile credentials. You will need to fill in:

  • Personal details (name, date of birth, state of origin)
  • Choice of institution (up to four in order of preference)
  • Course of study
  • Four exam subjects (must include Use of English + three relevant to your course)
  • Preferred exam town and CBT centre

Step 4 — Upload Your Photo and Biometric Data

A biometric capture (fingerprint + photo) is required at an approved JAMB centre. Springtower Computer Institute is an accredited JAMB centre, so you can complete this step with us in minutes.

Step 5 — Print Your Exam Slip

After completing registration, print your JAMB examination slip. This is your proof of registration and you must present it on exam day. Keep a copy safe.

Common Mistakes to Avoid

  • Wrong NIN: Always double-check your NIN before submitting
  • Wrong email: JAMB sends important notifications to your email
  • Fake PINs: Only buy from accredited centres
  • Wrong course/institution combination: Research entry requirements before choosing
